“It’s not about 10 minutes from now, it’s about 10 years from now and hopefully 100 years”.- Matt Mazarei. Along with his brother, Adam, Matt envisioned a club/AAU basketball program in the small bubble of Ventura County since they were kids. At last, in the year 2006, the Mazarei’s created Kings Basketball Academy and partnered with Open Gym Premier (OGP) in 2016
Since the beginning, Matt has been an NBA skills coach to multiple all-star players for over six years now. He specializes in not only basketball, but also strength training and conditioning with basketball-oriented exercises for longevity and injury prevention. With numerous NBA athletes under his wing including Karl-Anthony Towns, DeAngelo Russell, Devin Booker and Brian Bowen, Matt brings the same kind of passion to his coaching for the OGP Kings program.
