Coach Rich Brown is nothing short of an Elite Basketball coach. Coach Brown has 17 plus years experience in coaching, in those years he has passed down all the tools to help kids to develop into elite basketball players. He started the very successful program Jr. Hoops, back in 2006 and has pushed teams to the AAU Nationals in back to back years of 2018 and 2019. Last year he coached our OGP 16U Adidas Gold Team to a dominant year, in fact having an undefeated record in 3SGB Circuit, while also pushing them to be the very first OGP team to qualify for the 3SSB circuit. Coach Brown continues to develop young players into elite players throughout Orange County, with several OGP players who are preparing or already at the college level.


Coach Daniel Smith is an expert when it comes to coaching youth basketball. Coach Smith has 15 plus years of experience of coaching. Some of experience includes coaching high school basketball at Westminster, and Northwood, alongside AAU Grassroots. In his time coaching highschool basketball he made it to CIF 4 of the 8 years he was there so coach Daniel Smith is all about getting to the next level.  In his long period of coaching, Coach Smith is dedicated to one goal, in that helping the next generation of Athletes achieve their goals of playing at the next level in collegiate basketball. He has thrived as achieving his goal as OGP and is a proud representative of the Open Gym Premier which has a long standing culture of developing young players and provides visibility through resources to develop elite youth basketball players.

Luke Hammond is an elite basketball coach we are proud to have on our team. Luke’s back story starts off at Seattle University where he played collegiate basketball alongside playing at Northwest University. After his playing career was over he decided to jump into the coaching portal. He spent 4 years coaching Bellevue basketball, 2 of the 4 years he was an Assistant head coach. He would then be granted the role of head coach for Team Lavine in Seattle. Coach Hammond would take his talents down to Southern California coaching Elite Youth Basketball in Orange County for OGP for 3 seasons now in addition coaching highschool basketball for Canyon High.


Randy Labistre was an electric basketball star in Orange County and was even selected as an Orange County All-Star. Randy Went on to play 2 years at Orange Coast College, but his destiny was to be an elite basketball coach, the job that he fell in love with. Coach Labistre for the last 13 plus years and has taken players’ skills to new heights in Orange County youth basketball. His attention to detail will help push our highschool players to the next level in elite basketball and beyond.

Brandon Benjamin

Brandon Benjamin the Monarch from Mater Dei high school giving high contributions to his team on both sides of the ball. In his game against the Santa Margarita he dropped a double-double (14pts/11RBs). Brandon performs big in the rebound department as with an average of 8 rebounds per game more than half of them are on the defensive leading to fast transitions. Brandon’s ability to move quickly and to score like clockwork on fast breaks is what has really separated him from the pack and will lead him to success in the future. His season stats are 18 PPG, 8 RPG, 4 APG.

Derick Johnson

Derick Johnson, a sophomore at Edison High School, has been the sharpshooter for the Chargers this season with seven 3 pointers in just 2 games. Whether  it’s from the corner or the top of the key you know he’s got the shot. But also his ability to help facilitate the game find open guys that can get quick is what really elevates his game and will be a great asset for an OGP team. Derick is averaging 18 PPG, alongside 7.8 APG, and 6 RPG. Edison High School is currently sitting at a record of 18-4 with a big win over Newport Harbor. 

Oliver Nakra

Oliver Nakra the 6’1″ starting Guard for the Oilers has been nothing but an absolute force on the floor. Oliver’s great facilitating skills, and his simple catch and shoot formula is what has been driving the Oiler’s success. It does not matter where Oliver is at on the court he can make it from anywhere the key is his consistency. Oliver has been averaging 22.2 PPG, 2.3 APG, 50% FG, and Oilers are at a record of 14-8. 

Justin Kayode

Justin Kayode is a versatile weapon for Wilson High School and can play anywhere on the court. Not only is he a consistent shooter, he’s also a defensive stronghold with 94 steals in his varsity career. It’s important to not overlook his slashing ability and he is a battering ram to the basket. Justin’s stats on the year are at 18 PPG, 8RPG, and 5APG. The Wilson Wildcats are at a record of 12-11. 

Alex Van Otterloo

Alex Van Otterloo, the sophomore out of Esperanza High School has been a scoring machine for the Aztecs. He scored 28 points against Brea Olinda which is a career high for the sophomore. Alongside his scoring ability, he’s very quick to cut to the basket to boards and potentially second chance points for his team. Alex has emerged as a strong pillar for his team and a big threat to opponents, he will be an exciting player to watch for OGP Basketball. His stats on the year are, 22.5 PPG, 8.8 RPG, 2 BPG
